Our story
Hairgen.ai was founded in 2023 to bring modern generative AI to a problem that had been stuck in the era of bad Photoshop overlays. Hair restoration clinics were still showing prospective patients stock before/afters of strangers, and consumers had no way to see their own face with a different hairline before committing to surgery.
We built a platform that puts photorealistic simulation in the hands of both audiences: a professional Studio and embeddable widget for clinics, and a consumer Studio and mobile app for everyone else.
Today, Hairgen.ai is used by hair restoration clinics, plastic surgery practices, and dermatologists worldwide — and by tens of thousands of consumers exploring their options before they ever step into a clinic.
Our mission
Hair loss is one of the most personal experiences a person navigates. The decisions involved — to medicate, to live with it, to invest in surgery — are emotional, expensive, and irreversible. We exist to make those decisions less of a leap of faith, by giving both the clinician and the patient a shared visual of the path they're considering.
Why does your hair look so bad?
If we didn't need hair transplants too, why would we even be in this business? Our bad hair is our motivation to wake up every day and face the problem in the mirror. We've been offered hair transplants more than once by our partner clinics. When we've finished bringing hair transplant simulations to the world, we'll take one of them up on it.

Patient photos are sensitive. We treat them that way — encrypted in transit and at rest, never used for training without explicit consent.
